BALANCING HOLIDAYS & FITNESS

How to balance your health & fitness lifestyle with holidays

Here are my top tips for managing holidays and your fitness lifestyle.I get it. You've worked so hard to become the healthiest, most vibrant version of yourself and are concerned you might let yourself go on holiday with all the temptations.

One of my online clients went to Europe after consistently working with me for 8 months. She dropped a significant amount of body fat and improved her level of fitness by 70%, but most importantly, she was stoked with the structure and flow she had created for herself. Her household was a happier and calm environment because she was taking care of her own health and happiness. My coaching methods became her new way of living!

However, the fear of 'going off track' and jeopardising all her hard work was lingering in her mind.

What advice did I give her to 'stay on track'?

Firstly, it's important to note that I got her to a point where she now has a healthy relationship with food and herself, which means she doesn't feel the need to overindulge.

Secondly, we worked on her mindset, habits and creating new neural pathways that naturally improved and increased her frequency/vibration so that she wasn't in alignment with food of a low vibration (aka junk/highly processed food with 0 nutritional benefits) and even if she did consume comfort food, it didn't affect her energy nearly as much.

HERE IS MY ADVICE

1. ENJOY YOURSELF

Take the pressure off yourself. Not every day, nor month, do you get to enjoy a well-deserved break and with that in mind, it doesn't mean you have to let completely loose. Continue to a level of respect for your mind & body.

2. CONTINUE TO MOVE

Do some form of movement daily! Walking is king (you'd be surprised how much walking can increase your TDEE). Body weight sessions are also simple and easy to get the blood pumping and the lymphatic system flowing efficiently. Who doesn't want a natural dopamine hit?

3. FLOW

If you can, do your best to stay in the flow. If you are a morning mover, continue to exercise in the AM! This will certainly help to reduce the post holiday blues.

4. MINDSET

Setting intentions with the correct energy is essential. Instead of just focusing on how you want to navigate your holiday during it, focus on how you want to feel AFTER your holiday.

You have two options here:

A. "Fk it mentality" and deal with the consequences of your choices once you get back that leaves you feeling guilty.

B. Make the transition phase post holidays easier and more effective for yourself by making choices your future self will thank you for.
